DANGEROUS LADIES NORD'S DANGEROUS LADIES TENNIS TEAM HOST USTA NIGHT CAPS
 On Wednesday, March 17, 2010, the New Orleans Recreation Department (NORD) tennis team, the Dangerous Ladies, hosted a 3.5 level division (advanced) match against the Night Caps, a local United States Tennis Association (USTA) team, at NORD’s Atkinson/Edgar B. Stern Tennis Center.

SOLD! City Holds First Abandoned Vehicle Auction in 2010
 Today, March 18th, the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works held its first abandoned vehicle auction of the year. The auction began at 9 a.m. at Almonaster Auto Pound, 10200 Almonaster Avenue. Vehicle preview day occurred Wednesday, March 17.

PARKING METER CHANGES Parking Meter Changes Coming This Weekend
 Citizens are reminded of the upcoming changes to parking meter hours adopted as a part of the 2010 budget. This Saturday, March 20th, the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works will begin issuing courtesy, warning citations to parking meter violators according to the new policy to extend meter hours/days to Monday – Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Full enforcement of the new hours will begin on Saturday, March 27.

CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES ON JOURDAN AVENUE
 Workers continue construction on the heavily damaged Jourdan Avenue in the Lower Ninth Ward as part of the FEMA Eligible Roadway and Sidewalk Patching Repair program. Late last year, the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works and the Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans began the $1.8 million construction project to rehabilitate Jourdan Avenue from the N. Claiborne Avenue Bridge to Florida Avenue.

 Following Mayor Nagin's testimony yesterday before the Congressional Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Mayor Nagin met with FEMA Administrator Fugate.

THANK YOU HORNETS Team Helps Restore NORD Basketball Court
 Once again Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets, in partnership with Urban Strategies, stepped-up to help restore a local NORD basketball court in Central City at AL Davis Playground. On Saturday, February 20th, fans of all ages dressed in Hornets gear gathered at the playground for a ribbon cutting ceremony.
