Department Phone Directory » Department Services Proclamation Request Public Meeting Notices City of New Orleans Press Releases FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 5, 2009 TRAFFIC ALERT - MARCONI DRIVE New Orleans, LA -- The City of New Orleans Department of Public Works would like to alert citizens that crews will begin work on the Marconi Drive railroad underpass, south of the I-610 underpass, on Tuesday, October 6. Work on the underpass will be completed no later than Wednesday, October 7. Access to the Marconi Drive railroad underpass was closed in July 2009 due to a vehicle striking the Lake bound underpass beams. Crews will be removing the existing fascia beams in both directions and replacing with newly construction beams to match the existing underpass. Work is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
