Body:
"Plaintiffs' request for injunctive relief seeking to stop all activity relative to the development of the proposed Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) at the Mid-City site was denied today, which will allow the City, State and Veterans Administration to continue with this important project. The lawsuit filed challenging the proposed development focuses on the November 2007 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) executed by the City and the Department of Veterans Affairs."

"As a result of today's ruling by Judge Sims-Julien, all on-going work contemplated in the MOU can proceed. The City of New Orleans perceives this as a huge victory for the City, its citizens, and post-Katrina public health care for veterans. Indeed, several provisions of the MOU have already been completed or have been superseded by events related to project planning and environmental review."
