Department Phone Directory » Department Services Proclamation Request Public Meeting Notices City of New Orleans Press Releases FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 3, 2009 TRAFFIC ALERT Following the ceremonial groundbreaking last month for the South Louisiana Submerged Roads Program's projects in the Central Business District, the City of New Orleans Department of Public Works would like to alert citizens that crews will begin work tonight on sections of Gravier Street and Common Street. Tonight, crews from Boh Bros. Construction Co. will begin roadway repairs on Gravier Street from Loyola Avenue to S. Peters Street and on Common Street from Loyola Avenue to S. Peters Street. Over the next few months, crews will work over night beginning at 7 p.m. and concluding at 5 a.m. each day. Residents are encouraged to use alternate routes during construction to avoid delays.
