New Orleans Communications Center

New Orleans EMS is co-located with NOPD and NOFD to provide 911 call-taking and dispatching services for the citizens of and visitors to the City of New Orleans.

The NOEMS Communications Department is manned by highly dedicated, dually certified staff – each maintains status as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and as a certified Emergency Medical Dispatcher.

NOEMS is part of Louisiana Region One Communications (LAROC), the recently implemented innovative radio communications plan encompassing all Public Safety in the four parish region to ensure strong interoperable communications across parish, region, and state jurisdictions.

Approximately 40,000 calls for emergency medical assistance are processed annually using state of the art technology including Power 911 Intelligent Call-Taking work-stations, Priority Dispatch ProQA call-taking software, PremierCAD Computer Aided Dispatch, and Advanced Tactical Mapping System (ATM).
