Mayor Nagin's 2009 State of the City Address focused on the efforts of his administration and the accomplishments of all New Orleanians since he was first elected and particularly since the devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina and the flooding that followed.

A special feature of the State of the City program was a musical tribute accompanied by photographs that demonstrate the many ways that our citizens and people from around the country and world have worked to rebuild on of America's greatest cities. This feature illustrates Mayor Nagin's fundamental principle of moving beyond traditional barriers to create One New Orleans that works for everyone.
