Fee Schedule
Police Accident Report $20.00 / report Police Incident Report (up to 10 pages) $25.00 / report Report pages in addition to 10 pages $1.00 / page Basic Name Check (Background Check) $5.00 / name Letter of Good Conduct $25.00 / letter
▪ Only issued to requestor present, if not present the representative must have a notarized authorizing letter to allow issue to a third party. No Exception
▪ Payment forms accepted: Cash and/or Personal Check (make checks payable to the City of New Orleans)
▪ Mail Requests: New Orleans Police Department 715 S. Broad St. New Orleans LA 70119 Attn: Record Room
▪ All mail requests must include payment, police Item number or date, time and location of incident and a short description of incident (auto accident, burglary, theft, etc.)

The Records and Identification Division Public Service Counter is on the 1st floor of Police Headquarters, 715 South Broad Avenue
Hours of operation: Open to the Public for obtaining copies of Police Reports, Background Checks, & Letters of Good Conduct, on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm.
- Due to equipment damage, we are no longer providing fingerprinting service to the public.
- Accident & Criminal Event reports should be available twenty (20) working days from the date of the incident.

You can now download the Civil Service Application forms and police officer job announcements in PDF format. You can then fill out the forms and send them in to the address indicated on the form. Download > NOPD Recruit Application Packet
IMPORTANT! If you are local (within driving distance) you can turn your application in to Civil Service at City Hall, 1300 Perdido St., Room 7W03. Please bring your original High School diploma or G.E.D, original or official certified copy of your Birth Certificate, and your Driver's License. You will then receive a study guide and be scheduled for a test.
If you are an out of town applicant please call the Police Foundation at 1-888-NOPD-YES to receive more information for scheduling a test.
