Public Integrity
The mission of the Public Integrity Bureau (P.I.B.) of the New Orleans Police Department is to promote the credibility of and the public confidence in New Orleans Police Officers. P.I.B. achieves this mission by adopting preventive and pro-active measures to inculcate and enforce the highest standards of professional police performance. P.I.B. conducts and directs investigations into citizen and Department initiated allegations of police misconduct. P.I.B. receives allegations in a citizen-friendly, non-intimidating environment, and performs exhaustive, objective analysis of these allegations.

| To view the 2008 PIB annual complaint report click here. In its citation, The Bureau of Governmental Research commended P.I.B. for innovation, effective change and dramatic results in its efforts to re-establish discipline in the New Orleans Police Department. Specific achievements noted by the Bureau of Governmental Research included: case completion times reduced by 50% and Civil Rights complaints against field officers reduced by 29%.
