Asset Forfeiture Division

The Asset Forfeiture Division of the New Orleans Police Department provides assistance to all districts and units of the N.O.P.D. in the seizure of large amounts of U.S. currency, vehicles, and other assets which have been preliminarily identified as being used in the commission of narcotics crimes, or which are the fruits of those crimes.  The Asset Forfeiture Division usually provides on-scene assistance in these matters, and is responsible for the follow up on and processing of all seizure cases through the court system in cooperation with the District Attorney’s Office. 

Intelligence Division

The New Orleans Police Department's Intelligence Division tracks and monitors Subversive Groups operating within The City of New Orleans. We also monitor crime to watch for patterns and attempt to determine links and patterns. The Intelligence Division monitors local and national news and media outlets for any trends which may affect New Orleans. Intelligence also monitors political activity in the city.

Narcotics Division

The Narcotics Division of the New Orleans Police Department is tasked with identifying and investigating retail level and wholesale level narcotics marketers, conducting undercover operations and surveillances, collecting operational intelligence on suspects and on narcotics patterns in the New Orleans area, and preparing and executing search and arrest warrants on targeted locations and suspects.  The Narcotics Division also provides assistance to all other units and districts in relation to narcotics investigations when requested, and provides specialized vehicles to assist district level narcotics units. 

Vice Crimes Division

The Vice Crimes Section is responsible for the investigation into and undercover enforcement of Vice offenses including, but not limited to, all prostitution activity, obscenity, massage parlors and other vice related offenses.
